Meetings

The Cactus Sewables Quilt Guild meets each month except July and August. The meetings are held on the first Monday of the month. If there is a holiday that falls on the first Monday, we will meet on the second Monday. Doors open and social time begins at 12:30 p.m. The meeting starts promptly at 1:00 p.m. and usually concludes by 4:00 p.m. The meetings are held at the Yucca Valley Community Center, 57090 Twentynine Palms Highway, Yucca Valley, CA 92284.

The following is a brief list of the different activities offered to our members:

Community Outreach - Our Guild participates in many community outreach programs. “Hug-a-Bear” for the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s substations, Morongo Basin Paramedics and Ambulance Service, Several Fire Departments, Unity Home, Pregnancy Center, Senior Referral Service, Hospice, and Morongo Basin Adult Health Services.

Door Prizes - At every meeting we have wonderful gifts that any quilter would appreciate. Anyone may donate a door prize as well as win one.

Newsletter - Guild members receive a monthly newsletter that keeps them informed of Guild business and upcoming events.

Opportunity Table - At our general meetings we have raffle items available which are usually handmade and donated by our members. Proceeds from these programs help raise funds for our guild.

Program - We have guest speakers and experts in many fabric arts. These teachers often provide a workshop on the day following the meetings.

Sew What Table - Sewing related items are available for sale and this is your opportunity to acquire something you just can’t live without!

Show and Share - This is an opportunity for you to show off your talents, and share what you have made with the members of the Guild.

Workshops - A variety of classes are offered for a fee for the purpose of learning different aspects and techniques from local and renowned teachers.

We encourage you to get involved as soon as possible. The more you participate, the more you will enjoy being a member of Cactus Sew-Ables Quilt Guild. Welcome and Happy Quilting!
